-Allen Jaion Powell
Allen Jaion Powell was born and raised in the vibrant city of Memphis, TN. From a young age, he developed a passion for creating art, starting his artistic journey at the tender age of five. His early creations included a model house, collaborative painting sessions with his mother, and imaginative designs for tennis shoes. As a child, he dedicated himself to perfecting his artwork, aiming for precision and creativity in every piece. Allen draws his inspiration from the real people around him and the meaningful life experiences he has encountered. He refers to his unique artistic style as portrait pop art, a modern interpretation that utilizes monochrome colors to depict personalities, moving away from conventional painting methods. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of sharing his artwork with various notable entertainers, including Megan Thee Stallion and Eric Bellinger.
In order to further improve his skills and expand his artistic knowledge, he has participated in professional development classes that incorporated innovative techniques using glass in his artwork, which has greatly assisted him in enhancing his artistic techniques. Currently, Allen is pursuing his education at SCAD University, where he is working towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with a minor in Fashion Design. During his time at SCAD, he has gained valuable insights into art history and the fundamental principles that serve as the foundation of his creativity. He has also been pushed by professional instructors to strive for excellence in his craft. At the moment, Allen proudly displays his work at art exhibitions throughout Atlanta, accepts commission projects, and remains committed to staying true to his unique artistic vision.
